Dr. Lars Sörries-Vorberger is a junior professor of German linguistics at the University of Hamburg. He researches and teaches primarily in phonetics and phonology as well as gender and queer linguistics. After completing a Bachelor of Arts in German Studies at the University of Hamburg, he earned his doctorate (fast-track) at the Philipps University of Hamburg on a regional language topic. He currently co-leads a research network on queer linguistics (funded by the German Research Foundation) and conducts research, for example, on LGBT short words and trans voices in German.
